Galt resident, 83 year old Bill Jackson passed away at 7:08 AM on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 15, 2014, at the Galt Christian Church in Galt, Missouri.  Burial will be in the Berry Cemetery North of Galt.  A visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Open visitation will be held Friday afternoon through Friday evening, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Galt Christian Church and may be left with or mailed to Payne Funeral Home in Galt, MO.

Bill was born on September 23, 1930 in rural Galt, Missouri to Arthur and Susie Milner Jackson. He was united in marriage to Judy Berry on April 19, 1958 in Louisiana, Missouri.  They are the parents of three children, Les, Susie, and Coleen.
Bill was a farmer, co-owner of a Hickory Chip Factory in Osgood, worked for Whitely Popcorn Company and Con Agra Foods. After his retirement he drove a shuttle courier for Wright Memorial Hospital of Trenton.
Bill was a current member of the Galt Christian Church and a past member of the Berry Christian Church.  In both churches he served as an elder and Sunday School teacher. Bill enjoyed being with his family, playing music, and attending activities for his children and grandchildren. He was a loyal Grundy R-5 Panther fan.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Opal Robinson and Deva Propps; and four brothers, Dalton, Woodrow, Denver, and Obern Jackson.

Survivors include Bill’s wife Judy Jackson of the home; son Les Jackson and wife Lora of Galt; daughters Susie Vandevender and husband Steve of Trenton, and Coleen Banner and husband Ben of Kirksville; grandchildren, Logan and Meagan Jackson, Tyler and Dani Jackson, Zach and Bethany Vandevender, Amber and Brian Burger, De’Andre Vandevender, Heather Vandevender, Jordan Banner and Jesse Banner; great grandchildren, Brynlee Vandevender and Jackson Burger; sister-in-law Billie Dove Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
