Deanna Martin, a 70 year old former Spickard resident, passed away on Friday evening, October 7, 2011 at her home in Independence, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.  Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens.  A scheduled visitation will be held from 6 to 8:00 pm on Friday.

Mrs. Martin was born on January 24, 1941 the daughter of Dean and Georgia Strine Lovell.  She graduated Spickard High School and then attended Cosmetology School in St. Joe, MO.  She was married to Howard Martin on July 16, 1966, then they made their home in Independence, MO; he preceded her in death in 1989.   She began working for the IRS in 1968 until she retired in 2006.

She is survived by two nieces, Tammy Pipes of Laredo, MO and Teresa Chaulk of Kemmerer, WY; 5 nephews, Cody, Lance, Nick, Sidney, and Jackson; and one great great nephew, Danik.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley; and a great great niece, Janessa.
