John, may you rest in peace my friend!  Thank you for all of your time, support, and encouragement in Dedham, at the D.A.C., in 2008!  You were a great counselor and guide to many!  I know that you helped countless persons in your volunteering your time there, over the time (many years I believe), that you did.  You always had great criticism, feedback, encouragement, and were a great listener and counselor, as we discussed recovery, issues in life or our circumstances, and our faith and just general concerns.  You were always very motivating, uplifting, encouraging, and inspiring.  And it was great exchanging and receiving your letters and correspondence in the time thereafter.  I'm looking at one now, and you congratulated me on my sobriety, for being faithful, to "keep up the good work, your doing excellent."  And that it was "Always good to hear from you and your progress."  And I really appreciated your prayerful words that you ended with: "May the Good Lord be with you, watch over, and be in His Love."  I know that you lived a very good, humble, faithful, and selfless life, from your many years as a Boston firefighter, to all of your volunteer work and helping of others, to the discussion and sharing of your faith, and I'm confident that you are at peace, at rest, and will be with the Good Lord in heaven!  Thank you again for everything, God Bless you, and again - rest in peace my friend!

My condolences and sympathies to John Jr. and to all of John's family, as you mourn John's passing, but as you also celebrate John's life.  I had been trying to get in touch with John these past few months, and just learned recently of John's passing.  I met John while I was in jail in Dedham in 2008, and I saw John weekly for the six months that I was there, and he was a force for good in the lives of many, to all those who attended the meetings and met him, as we discussed recovery and faith related matters, and any problems or concerns we had.  John was always willing to listen and to offer helpful advice.  John was a good man, a great guy and "friend", and he will be missed!  I will keep John, and all of you, in my thoughts and prayers.  My condolences, sympathies, and regards.

Life is just not the same without my brother John, I do miss him very much. But I thank God for the time I had with him and feel confident that he will be blessed for the years that he gave of himself to The Legion of Mary.
He touched more lives than anyone knows.
My condolences to his children and grandchildren.
    Sincerely in Mary's Legion,
           Carol Parillo
