TABEEK, Elaine H. (Najjar) Of Dedham, January 27. Age 93. Beloved wife of the late George. Devoted mother of Adele Teves and her husband Dennis of Onset (formerly of Andover), Laraine Hawkins and her husband Larry of Arizona, Valarie Ortelt and her husband Alfred of Middleborough, George Tabeek, Jr. and his wife Audrey of Dedham. Cherished sister of Gloria Balich of Arlington, Sam Najjar, Jr. of Plymouth and the late Arthur and William. Loving "Grandma" of Denise Bandaru of Winchester, Danielle Hollenbach of Maryland, Darlene Teves of Danvers, Alison Hawkins of Colorado, Amy Simeone of Arizona, Alfred Ortelt Jr. of Whitman, Elaina Ortelt of Rhode Island, Elisabeth Ortelt of Connecticut, Shelly Ortelt of Norwood, George Tabeek of Boxborough (formerly of Dedham), Amanda Tabeek of Dedham, and six great-grandchildren; also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
Elaine was always working. She was proud that she had worked at a Defense Plant. After the war, she was employed at John Hancock. Later she worked at George's Variety Store and the Oakdale Spa with her husband. She was later employed at Rustcraft and LTX. Lastly, at age 92, she could still be seen working at Dollarama/Essentials, her son's store.
Cooking was her passion, and she always had a meal to offer to anyone who dropped by. She loved being with her family and looked forward to all family events, especially the annual Najjar Christmas Party. Elaine read the Bible daily and was an avid reader. She loved to attend musicals, which reflected her love of music that began in her high school years when she played the violin.
In the past, Elaine was very active in her church by being the president of the Women's Society, and for many years she took on the responsibility of ordering the Christmas poinsettias and Easter lilies. She was also an active member of the Women's Circle. She attended her church faithfully and cherished her friendships.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday evening from 3:00-7:00PM at the Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home, 22 Oak St., HYDE PARK. Relatives and friends invited. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday morning at 10:00AM at Allin Congregational Church, 683 High St., Dedham. Interment at Brookdale Cemetery.
