CAVANAGH, John P. "Jack" Of Hyde Park, October 26, age 60. Devoted son of the late Frank and Katherine Cavanagh Gearin. Cherished brother of Tom Cavanagh and his wife Pamela of West Roxbury, Lynda Bernard of West Roxbury and Jerry Gearin of Hyde Park. Loving uncle of Emily Cavanagh and her husband Reuben Fitzgerald, Peter Cavanagh, Andrew Cavanagh, Robert Bernard and John Bernard. He is also survived by his cousin Gerry Wall and his wife Mary. Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening from 4-8 at the Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home, 22 Oak St., HYDE PARK, A Funeral Service will be held Friday morning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Relatives and friends invited. Interment will be private at family's request. Jack, known to all his friends as "Jackie Cav", lead his life with a zest that was almost unparalleled. He was an outstanding athlete, a gifted photographer, a graceful dancer, an Elvis impersonator, a wild animal enthusiast, a restaurateur, a world traveler and a politcal afficiendo. However, Jack was best known for his gift for friendship. He had friends from all walks and stations of life and he committed himself to each one of them with deep and abiding affection. In sickness those friends rallied to his care and our family wishes to thank all his friends who made meals, visited and called; with special thanks to the regulars, Gordy, Danny, Tag, Ronnie, Charlie, Maff, Rita and Pauline.
