William "Billy" Matta of Quincy, formerly of Boston's South End, a Korean War Veteran who dedicated his life to family and work, died at Hancock Park
Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Quincy on Sunday, September 12, 2010, age 78, surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of the late Gloria (Zine) Matta, father of Cheryl Williams, Philip and his wife Valarie Matta, Doreen and her husband Andrew Bargoot and Helen Matta. Loving Giddo of Sean, Allissa, Stephen, Louis, Rachel and Andrew.
Born and raised in Brockton, he was a 1949 graduate of Brockton High School. He was the son of the late George and Anna Matta, brother of M. Edward (late), George, Edmund, Vincent, Ronald and Daniel Matta, and Georgette Gray and Patricia Litif. He also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass was be celebrated at St. Agatha Church, Milton, Thursday at 10:30 A.M. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home,
326 Granite Avenue, Milton, Wednesday 4-8 P.M. Interment in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be
