Queenie Holmberg (Garoian) of Canton, age 89, passed away peacefully on April 21.  Beloved wife of the late Dewey, she is survived by son Scott of Atlanta, daughter Melanie and her husband, Arthur Zoidis, of Canton and Boston, and grandsons Timothy Zoidis of Canton and Matthew Holmberg of Cambridge.  She was cherished sister of the late Marion Manoogian, of Amherst, NH.  Queenie also leaves many other loved relatives and friends.

Known as “The Knitting Guru,” Queenie owned “Queenie’s Yarn Shop” in Canton for over 25 years. She was born and lived in Providence, RI until her move to Canton over 60 years ago. I am so sorry to read about the loss of such a lovely woman as Queenie. I met Queenie at the gym and I loved listening to her stories about her family and her gardens. She was such a class act. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Melanie and Scott,
I'm so sorry to hear of Queenie's death; she was a truly wonderful person. She helped me as I began my career in the yarn industry 35 years ago; she became not only a good customer, but a good friend. She was always beaming with pride as she talked about Dewey, both of you, and her precious grandchildren! We shall all miss her. Jim Baldini
