McCORMACK, Thomas (a/k/a MacCormack) Of Hyde Park, formerly of Co. Roscommon, Ireland, Oct. 4, 2012, age 85, survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Catherine of Hyde Park, formerly of Co. Roscommon, Ireland; and his children, John and his wife Julie (O'Brien) of Hyde Park, Joseph of Lowell, Patrick of Lowell, Paul and his wife Kathleen (Doyle) of South Easton, Mary Elizabeth of West Roxbury, and James of Hyde Park; and his grandchildren, Thomas, Erin and Matthew of South Easton, and Luke and Declan of Hyde Park; his brother Seamus and sister Eileen Keigher, both of Ireland; his sister-in-law, Mary Christena McCormack of Hyde Park and her children Kathleen Galvin of Hyde Park, Bernadette McMahon and her husband Jim of Canton, Brendan of Hyde Park, and Teresa McLaughlin and her husband Ian of Canton; and by many nieces, nephews and other relations here and abroad. Pre-deceased by his parents, James and Elizabeth, and recently by his dear brother, Michael of Hyde Park. Tom was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, a Past Grand Knight of Msgr. Chittick Council, No. 89 of Hyde Park, and a great and tireless proponent of the Columbian Squires youth program. He was a member of the Holy Name Society in his beloved parish of the Most Precious Blood. He was a life-long member of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association of Ireland. He was an early member of the Irish Cultural Centre of Canton, and was a member of other Irish organizations over the years. He enjoyed his time playing and coaching in junior level Gaelic Athletic Association football in Ireland. Tom was an accomplished and gifted carpenter. Funeral from the Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home, 22 Oak St., HYDE PARK, Wednesday morning at 8AM. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Precious Blood Church at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday evening 3-8PM. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury.
