To my best friend growing up, we learned life lessons together and created memories, from playing ball to playing cards and driving in the old olive green (former gas company) station wagon, I will miss you my friend.

My condoences to the Foley family. George was my paper boy and baby sitter. Always a concerned and faithful person. Faithful in performance and in personal relationship with God. I will always remember him.

I remember the van not the the old olive green (former gas company) station wagon what a good steak out car to use maybe not as good as my Dad''s 1953 VW bus. I got to know George when he did the detail at Playland cafe. which he did alot and then I got to know him though my Dad. (work a lot together) To this day I look for his van parked at Beach & Wash. I know He is gooing to be deeply missed that knew him well and I would like to think I did!

My condolences to all the Foley family. It was always always nice to run into George. He always had a good word and a good smile. I was honored to have him think of me being his friend. He was a good detective and a good man.

On behalf of the West Roxbury District Court Unit (BPD), of which I am supervisor, I wish to pass along our heartfelt condolences to the family, and friends of the late Detective George Foley, Boston Police Department.
George needed no introduction at the Court where he was a "regular" and well respected Detective by all who knew, and worked with him. He worked hard, very hard, and possessed the energy and zeal of a man half his age. In the darkest days of his struggle with his health, George gave no quarter, he battled day to day, earning enormous respect from others.
He left a stunning legacy as a dedicated, and tenacious Detective, achiving superior results. This department is forever at a loss, with George''s sudden passing.
Personally, I enjoyed many a conversation with George at the court and would always find enthusiasm when I saw him arrive out front of the court in his "Cannon Mobile" as I used to kid him. I''ll truly miss him, the man, his passion for what he did so well, and his great sense of humor.
George was unique, a real treasure, for those of us fortunate to know him. Rest in Peace George, you certainly earned it.

In respect,

Sgt. Lawrence Fisher
