To the Stuhlfire family, Mia and I are sad to hear of your loss. Tom was an excellent leader and mentor to many of us at Foxboro, both in Soest and FoxMass. We also fondly remember the great "ertesoep" that Coby and Tom would prepare during winter gatherings at their home.

Our deepest condolences,

Paul & Mia Ficarro

Through many years of discussions with Tom, we agree with him that in our memories we all know that love lives on.  We shared many loving thoughts with Tom over the years and appreciated his time and efforts towards being an outstanding friend.  We will miss him like everyone that knew him, but we will always remember him with love.  John and Carolyn Melius

It was a privilege to know Tom and enjoy tennis with him. His help when I lost my wife Kitty, will stay with me always.

So sorry for your loss.

What a forgiving and gracious gentleman Tom was.

I woke early this morning two time zones away from Walpole and, for some reason, thought of Tom. Without any explanation for why he was brought to mind, a quick internet search sadly brought the news of his memorial service this very morning. I guess some things aren't meant to be explained. But how strange that I might think of Tom this morning of all mornings.

When I was a frequent visitor at their home in the years when David, John and I were all in high school, Tom and Coby were unerringly kind, hospitable and patient. Looking past my rebellious and sometimes arrogant teenage behavior, they were always warmly welcoming; Coby offering a kind thought for my parents, Tom with his stong handshake and genuine, steady gaze.

The last time I saw Tom was more than a decade ago out in front of the Walpole Post Office. We chatted briefly about his grandchildren and my law school experience. With complete sincerity and a soft poke in my chest for emphasis, he said, "When you graduate, I'll let you be my lawyer." And though I knew it was the kind of expression of support he'd so often offered in my youth, I was then and remain in awe of how steadfast and consistent in character and decency he was and had always been.

I wish I'd seen him one last time to thank him. As models of decency, politeness and kindness, and during the toughest part of my life, Thomas and Coby helped make me a better person. I'll never forget them, and I am forever grateful.

I worked with Tom on a committee in the Town of Walpole. I think of him with deep respect and heartfelt fondness.  A man of great integrity, kind, and thoughtful, he regularly deepened the level of our conversation, adding wisdom and perspective. Although I do not know you, his family, I do know that he was completely devoted to and very proud of you. My heart is with you as you grieve his loss.
