Donald L. Pilz, age 58 of 6155 S 030 W, Wolcottville, IN died during a car accident on June 4, 2008 at 5355 S 0075 W, Wolcottville, IN. Mr. Pilz suffered a Heart Attack which caused his vehicle to leave the road.

He was born on April 18, 1950 to Gilbert & Beulah (Turner) Pilz in Ft Knox, KY.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietamese Campaing Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Purple Heart Medal and a Presidential Unit Citation. Mr. Pilz was formerly a Sheriff for LaGrange County, Indiana from 1975 to 1978. He enjoyed being outdoors , being on the lake and fishing.

Surviving are; 1 daughter - Rigel & (Sean) Griffith of San Diego, CA, 1 son - Lee & (Melissa) Pilz of Wawaka, IN, 3 brothers - Charles Johnson of Blanchester, OH, Owen Johnson and Sam Johnson both of Cincinatti, OH, 2 sisters - Mae Calvin and Shirley Johnson both of Goshen, OH. 2 granddaughters - Kayla & Amanda Pilz of Wawaka, IN.

He was preceeded in death by his Parents and 1 brother - Gilbert Pilz.

Family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at the Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be at held 2:00 PM on Sunday with the Rev. Ken Weaver of the First Presbyterian Church, LaGrange, IN officiating. Military Rites will be by the American Legion Post #215, LaGrange, IN.
