Kenneth D. "Tom" Poling, age 55, of 4285 N SR 9, Howe, Indiana
died at his home on June 3, 2008 at 1:25 P.M. after a short battle with cancer.
He was born on May 10, 1953 in
Ft Wayne, Indiana, a son to Glen & Betty (Sweet) Poling. He married Betty R. Whitlock in LaGrange, Indiana on October
4, 1997. She survives.
Mr. Poling served in the United States Army as a Sharpshooter and was a veteran of
the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal. He was previously employed at Mastercraft,
Inc. in LaGrange, Indiana. He enjoyed reading about and studying the history of WWII and was an avid Dallas Cowboys
Football Fan.
He is Survived by his wife - Betty Poling of Howe, IN., 1 son - Mike Gose of Topeka,
IN., 2 daughters - Susan Wilson of Howe, IN., and Candra Gose of Wolcottville, IN., 1 brother - Pete Poling of Auburn,
IN., 1 sister - Marsha Ells of Auburn, IN. and 4 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Thursday,
June 5, 2008 at the Funeral Home. The Funeral Service with Military Rites by the American Legion Post #215 will be held
at 3:00 P.M. Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Funeral Home with the Chaplain Brian Carsten of Cameron Hospice and the Deacon Phil
Stewart of the Stroh United Baptist Church officiating. Cremation to follow with burial at a later date in Greenwood
Cemetery, LaGrange, IN.
Memorials are to be given to the Poling Family. Envelopes are available at the funeral
home.
