R. Diane Moshier of 207 Michigan
Ave., Sturgis, Michigan, died April 4, 2008 at her residence. Born March 11, 1944 in Plainsville, Ohio, a daughter of Robert D. and Lucille E. (Fussner) Hollingsworth.
She attended Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia, and graduated from Kent State University. She
also attended Glen Oaks Community College and edited there literary magazine. On September 3, 1966 in Pepper
Pike, Ohio she married James Moshier. She had lived in Willoughby, Ohio; Canton, Ohio; Delaware, Ohio;
Lima, Ohio; Niles, Michigan before coming to Sturgis in April of 1974. She was Co-Owner of Aqua Clear Inc. of Sturgis, a free lance writer for the Sturgis Journal, had been
a third grade teacher at Ostrander School in Ostrander, Ohio; she was also a social worker in Canton, Ohio; LaGrange, Indiana
and St. Joseph Co. Michigan being employed by Thurston Woods Village and Fairview Medical Care Facility. She
was a member of the Sturgis Newcomers Club and started the Arts and Crafts Fair for the club in 1976. A
Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader and past co-service unit chairman for Singing Sands Council. A member
of the First United Methodist Church, Sturgis Garden Club, member of Congress Parents Organization and co-founder of Congress
Crier, volunteer at junior high library, advisory board for Sturgis Home Health Care, enjoys playing bridge, church choir,
writing, reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, going out to eat. Surviving are husband; one son, John and Jennifer Moshier of Shaker Heights, Ohio, two daughters, Mrs
Jonathan (Sara) Clark of Paris, Michigan; Mrs Jeremy and (Anne) Howard of Scotts, Michigan; Four brothers, R. Donald Hollingsworth
of Willoughby, Ohio; Richard R. Hollingsworth of Gainesville, Georgia; R. Dean and Madelyn Hollingsworth of Willoughby, Ohio;
R. Dale and Kathleen Hollingsworth of Willoughby, Ohio; Father, Robert D. Hollingsworth of Willoughby, Ohio; 4 Grandchildren;
Alex Moshier of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Timothy Clark and Ella Clark of Paris, Michigan, Frances Howard of Scotts, Michigan;
Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by her mother and grandparents. The family will receive friends Friday April 11, 2008 from 5-8 pm
at the Sturgis Young Auditorium in Sturgis, Michigan, A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church,
Sturgis, Michigan on Saturday April 12, 2008 ay 11:00 am with the Pastors Keith Treman and Bob Keim officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church to aid Camp Scholarships
or the Music Program or to the Glen Oaks Community College Foundation. |
