Hattie Mae Rich

Indianapolis - Hattie M. Rich, 101, formerly of LaGrange died Monday, March 3, 2008 of natural causes at Hooverwood in Indianapolis, Ind.

Mrs. Rich graduated from Central Michigan university with a bachelor degree in education. She was an elementary school teacher for nearly 50 years. She taught at Hicksville Ohio Elementary School, Antwerp Ohio Schools, Tuscola County Schools and Fort Wayne Community Schools and retired from teaching in 1980. She was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed playing the piana, painting, singing and teaching.

Surviving are three sons, Robert Gerald & (Delores) Klea, Darrell Edward & (Janice) Klea, James Paul & (Cathy) Klea; two daughters, Alice Marie & (Milo) Ploof, Bette Jeanene & (John Jay) Boyce; eleven grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Besides her husbands and parents, she is preceeded in death by one brother, Isaac Albrant; five sisters, Mabel Dickerson, Jenny Gilmore, Charlotte, Mildred and Bessie Albrant; one grandson, William Klea.

A Memorial Service was held on Monday March 17, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Mennonite Church in Indianapolis, Indiana with the Rev. Ryan Ahlgrim officiating.
