LAGRANGE, Ind. - Margaret M. Simpson, age 86, of

770N - 75E, LaGrange, Ind., died Jan. 3, 2008, at the Life Care Center of LaGrange.

She was born Sept. 13, 1921, in Shipshewana, Ind., a daughter of Hugh and Orpha (Nelson) Easterday.

On July 5, 1941, she married Robert Simpson in Crown Point, Ind. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1984.

Margaret was a homemaker while raising her children. After the children were grown she was employed as a mail carrier at the Shipshewana Post Office. She enjoyed gardening in her spare time.

Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. John (Linda) Smits of Sturgis, Mich., Kevin (Tammie Shoup) Koontz of Goshen and Mrs. Steve (Sandy) Keenan of Goshen; a brother, Ernest Easterday of Mendon, Mich.; and a granddaughter, Nicole Keenan of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, Maurice, Lyle and Paul Easterday; and two sisters, Betty Hostetler and Gladys Conner.

Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday at the

Carney-Frost Funeral Home in LaGrange. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Shipshewana United Methodist Church with Pastor Charles McPeek officiating. Burial will be in Keightley Cemetery, Shipshewana.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
