Arnold G. Merriman, age 89, of 503 N. Detroit St., LaGrange, IN died Sunday August 28, 2011 at 10:05 p.m. at Parkview LaGrange Hospital, LaGrange, IN.  He was born November 15, 1921 in LaGrange, In to Glenn H. & Ruth (Minzey) Merriman.  He was an AAF Communications Officer in The Army Air Core from May 20, 1943 to May 3, 1946.  He married Elizabeth Jayne Schrock in LaGrange, IN on May 15, 1948.  She survives.  He owned and operated Merriman Television for 30 years.  He was a member of the American Legion and VFW.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with his family.  He was an avid outdoorsman and loved traveling around the United States.  Throughout his life, Arnold's most important values were based on the love of his family, love of his country and love of nature.  He is survived by:  his wife, 1 son - Glenn (Chip) & Belinda Merriman of Indianapolis, IN.  4 daughters - Cheri Jayne Merriman of Boulder, CO, April & Joe Cunningham of Loveland, CO, Elizabeth Merriman & Steve Hayes of Oak Harbor, WA. and Holly Jo Merriman of LaGrange, IN.  3 grandchildren and, 1 great-granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  A private family graveside service with military rites performed by the American Legion Post #215, LaGrange, IN will be held on Thursday September 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to the LaGrange County Library Bookmobile Fund or Parkview LaGrange Hospice.  Arrangements are by Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN.
