Mary J. Smith, age 89, of 902 Martz Dr., Auburn, In (formerly of LaGrange) died Friday August 12, 2011 at 10:19 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.  She was born on April 18, 1922 in Wolcottville, IN to Howard & Flora (Salsbury) Miller.  She married Ralph Smith on January 18, 1941 in Wolcottville, IN.  He preceded her in death in July 1987.  Mary was a homemaker most of her life.  She enjoyed nature, birds, crossword puzzles and magazines.  She is survived by;  2 sons - Robert L. & Joyce Smith of Arizona and Rodney P. Smith of Garrett, IN.   2 daughters - Susan I. Reiling of Auburn, IN and Alliecia M. & Gary Montgomery of Howe, IN.  11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother - Fred Holsinger.  1 son - Larry M. Smith.  Visitation will be held on Monday August 15, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN.  The funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Pastor Dave Beard of the Hopewell Church, Avilla, IN. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange, IN.  Arrangements are by Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN.
