Linda D. Girard, age 61, of LaGrange died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 1:04 a.m. at Life Care Center of LaGrange.  She was born on May 1, 1950 in Sturgis, MI to Albert L. & Phyllis D. (Neadstine) Smith.  She married Robert J. Girard, he preceded her in death.  She had lived in Coldwater, MI and moved to LaGrange in 2008.  She was a homemaker all of her life.  She enjoyed crocheting, reading and spending time it her grandchildren.  She is survived by 2 daughters - Jennifer & Douglas Leach and Crystal & David Allen, both of Howe, IN.  1 son - Duke Baker of Kinderhook, MI.  3 brothers - Lynn & Teresa Smith, DeWayne & Julie Smith and Leland (L.D.) Smith all of Sturgis, MI.  1 sister - Leila & Dirk Sargent of Burr Oak, MI.  8 grandchildren.  She was preceded in deat by her parents, husband and 1 grandon - Zackary Shoulders.  According to her wishes, cremation will take place.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday July 12, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN with a memorial service immediately following visitation at 11:00 a.m. with the pastor John Adams officiating.  Burial will be in Adams Cemetery, Burr Oak, MI at a later date.  Arrangements are by Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN.
