Wesley E. Simpson

Wesley E. Simpson, LaGrange, age 67, died Saturday June 11, 2011 at 5:43 p.m. at Parkview LaGrange Hospital, LaGrange, IN.  He was born on January 14, 1944 in Wellsville, NY to Charles W. & Mabel (Wilcox) Simpson Sr.  He married Sharon L. Miller on April 7, 1972 in the United Methodist Church in Howe, IN.  She survives in LaGrange.  Wesley served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam from February 1964 to December 1965 and August 1967 to December 1968.  He received the AF Exp Medal, the code of conduct medal, the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 bronze stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 1960, Good Conduct Medal (1stawd) 2 O/S Bars and Expert Rifles M-14 & M16.  Wesley was employed at the Sturgis Foundry in Sturgis, MI as a Machinist until retiring after 35 years of service.  He is survived by 1 sister - Sue & Richard Evans of Fort Wayne, IN.  1 sister-in-law - Debbie Simpson of LaPorte, IN.  2 nieces - Connie Slauf and Cindy Green.  5 nephews - Robert Green, David & Rachel Green, William & Becky Green, Richard & Annie Green and Michael Green.  1 grandchild and 1 great grandchild.  He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 son - Terry Simpson and 2 brothers -  Charles & Donald Simpson.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 14, 2011 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN.  The funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Pastor Mike McKinney officiating.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange, IN with full military rites performed by the American Legion Post #215, LaGrange, IN.  Memorials may be given to Parkview LaGrange Hospice or the Alzheimer Foundation.  Arrangements are by Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN.
