Norma Jean Eash

Norma Jean Smith Eash, 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. at Autumn Care of Statesville. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Mrs. Eash was born May 27, 1935 in Gastonia, NC and was the daughter of the late William Andrew Smith and Nellie White Smith. She was a graduate of Gaston County Schools and was married to the late Richard Eash, who passed away in 2003.       Mrs. Eash is survived by one daughter, Susan Medlin (Gene) of Statesville, one son, Rev. Tim Campbell (Brenda) of Burnsville, NC, one sister, Joyce Cartmill of Melbourne, FL; three brothers, James Smith of Westville, WA, Donald Smith of Chatsworth, GA, Steve Smith of Williamsburg, VA, four grandchildren, Beth Underwood of Statesville, Joe Campbell of Lawsonville, NC ,Tony Campbell of Winston-Salem, Sherry Campbell of Burnsville, three great grandchildren, Zac, Katie and Emily Underwood all of Statesville, one step-son, Rod Eash of Angola, IN, one step-daughter, ReDena Dalrymple of Elkhart, IN and two step-grandchildren, Angie Cowan and Amy Stidham of Howe, IN. Funeral services will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Benfield officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday May 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange, Indiana.   Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625.
