Dale E. Shafer, age 88, of 215 W. South St., LaGrange, IN died Monday May 2, 2011 at 8:45 p.m. at Life Care Center of LaGrange, IN.  He was born on April 22, 1923 in LaGrange, IN to Lloyd & Mabel (Bedford) Shafer.  He was a self employed Mechanic/Charles all of his life.  He is survived by his 2 brothers - Lloyd Shafer Jr of White Pigeon, MI and Arnold Shafer of Mesa, AZ.  1 sister - Martha Speicher of LaGrange, IN.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters - Vivian Machan and Marjorie Fields.  Visitation will be held on Thursday May 5, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN.  The funeral service will be at 10:30 immediately following visitation at the funeral home with the Pastor Jeff Stedge of the Scott Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will be in Shore Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN.
