Verlin McKee, age 85, of 3130 E 695 N., Howe, IN died Wednesday February 9, 2011 at 6:15 a.m. at Parkview Main Hospital,
Fort Wayn, IN. He was born on December 28, 1925 in Anderson, IN to Virgil and Marie (Swank) McKee. He married
Shirley Carroll on December 9, 1946 in Anderson, IN and moved to Howe in 1965. She survives in Howe. Verlin
was a combat veteran of the Merchant Marines from 1943 thru the end of WWII. He had previously owned and operated Mac
Excavating and started the Mill Run Mobile Home Park in Howe, IN which is still owned and operated by his family. He
was a Lakeland High School Bus Driver and retired after 16 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion
Post #423 in Orland, IN, the American Legion 4th District Competetive Pool League and had advanced one year
to the Las Vegas National Pool Tournament. He loved living on Cedar Lake and was an avid Fisherman. He is
survived by his wife - Shirley McKee of Howe, IN. 2 sons - Christopher & Christine McKee of Corpus Christi, TX and Mark
McKee of Howe, IN. 1 daughter - Rachel & John Combs of Howe, IN. 1 sister - Betty Bray of Madison, IN.
1 daughter-in-law - Linda McKee of White Pigeon, MI. 1 son-in-law - Mark "Sherman" Trombley of Chicago, IL.
6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 son - Bruce
McKee. Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 15, 2011 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange,
IN. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday February 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Father
Bernard Ramenaden of St Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City, IN officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery,
Howe, IN with full military rites by the American Legion Post. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer Association,
P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011. Arrangements are by Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN.
