Ralph R. Johnson, Age 76, of 0615 W 200 S., LaGrange, Indiana Died
Thursday December 9, 2010 at 1:33 P.M. at Parkview LaGrange Hospital. He was born in LaGrange, IN on December 16, 1934
to Chester E. & Lucile E. (Fonner) Johnson Lucile E. Ralph had served in the Air Force and was a prop plane mechanic during
the Korean conflict and he also served in Japan. He married Ida Borntrager on November 29, 1959. She survives
in LaGrange. He was employed at Federal Paper Board in Elkhart, IN for 31 years until their closing. He then
worked at Ameri-Craft Carton in Sturgis where he retired from in 1999. Since his retirement, he was a farmer in LaGrange
and loved tractors and going to farm auctions. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in LaGrange, American
Legion Post # 215, LaGrange, IN and was the current Chaplain and served on the color guard. He was also a member of the Farm
Bureau Board, NRA, Sturgis Eagles, LaGrange Moose and a former member of the LaGrange Eagles. He is survived by;
His wife, 1 daughter - Carol Jacobs of LaGrange, IN, 1 son - Martin Johnson of LaGrange, IN, 1 brother - Gerald M. & (Marilyn)
Johnson of Virginia, 1 sister - Estella Carney of LaGrange, IN, 1 grandson - Trevor Johnson and 1 granddaughter - Stephanie
Smith. He was preceded in death by: His parents, 1 Step Father - Earl Diekman and 1 infant brother Dennis. Visitation will
be held at the First United Methodist Church, LaGrange, Indiana on Monday December 13, 2010 from 4- 8 p.m. The funeral
service will be on Tuesday December 14, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Pastor Chris Danielson officiating. Burial
will be in Greenwood Cemetery with a graveside service with full Military Rites performed by the American Legion Post #215,
LaGrange, IN. Memorials may be given to The American Legion Post #215 or the Humane Society of LaGrange. |
