Burton E. Mahler, age 70, 3320 N 900 E, Howe, IN died Thursday December 2, 2010 at 4:43 p.m. at his residence.  He was born on January 11, 1940 in Elkhart, IN to Melvin & Leona (Snyder) Mahler.  He married Sandra LeCount in Bristol, IN in 1965.  She survives.  Burton was a semi driver his whole life and had previously worked for Reliable tool and Weiss Trucking until his retirement.  He was a retired Firefighter with the Mongo Fire Department.  He enjoyed Fishing and camping.  He is survived by his wife, 5 daughters - Cindy D. Cauffman of South Bend, IN, Cindy K. Hydorn of Wolcottville, IN, Lisa & (Thomas) McKee of LaGrange, IN, Carmen & (Carlos) Sanchez of South Bend, IN and Sandra Stewart of LaGrange, IN.  3 sons - Melvin & (Kelly) Mahler of South Bend, IN, Terry Mahler of Carlisle, IN and Mark Mahler of LaGrange, IN.  4 sisters - Bev Phillips of Goshen, IN, Blanch Gore of Elkhart, IN, Gloria & (Bill) Johnson of Union, MI and Bernice Miller of Goshen, In.  2 brothers - R.B. & (Ann) Mahler of  Osceola, IN and Burnell & (Susan) Mahler of San Diego, CA.  22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by;  Parents, 12 brothers and sisters and 1 great-grandson Trenton.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday December 4, 2010 at Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN.  The funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. immediately following visitation.  According to his wishes, cremation will take place.  Arrangements are by Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN.
