Verna L. Combs, age 76, of 2940 N 500 E, LaGrange, IN died Wednesday September 1, 2010 at 12:33 p.m. at her residence.  She was born on May 4, 1934 in Airy, KY to Fernado & Fannie (Jones) Williams.  She married Orville Combs in 1949 in Kentucky.  Verna had worked in the manufacturing business most of her life and was previously employed at Supreme Corporation in Goshen, IN.  She enjoyed making quilts, canning and being a homemaker.  She is survived by; 3 sons - John & Rachel Combs of Howe, IN, Jerry & Treas Combs of Howe, IN and Matthew & Jenny Combs of LaGrange, IN.  1 daughter - Janice & Leonard Ritchie of LaGrange, IN.  1 brother - Noah & Sandy Williams of Ohio.  2 sisters - Lorraine Terry of Ohio and Sandy & Cecil Isaac of Indiana.  14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by; her parents, husband, 1 son - Donald Ray Combs.  1 daughter - Ella May Anderson.  1 sister - Rachel Combs.  3 granddaughters and 1 great granddaughter.  Visitation will be held on Friday September 3, 2010 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a church service at 6:00 p.m. at the Community Baptist Church, 700 S, South Milford, IN.  The funeral service will be held on Saturday September 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the church with the Pastor Lee Combs and Pastor Clarence Combs officiating.  Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City, IN.
