Opha L. Russell, age 89, of 3920 N 100 E., LaGrange, IN died Saturday, July 03, 2010 at 7:45 A.M. at her Residence.  She was born in Bellmont,Mississippi on December 27, 1920 to Wallace D. & Ann E. (Stanphill) Shook.  She married Woodrow Russell on May 17, 1936 in Tuscumbia, AL.  He preceded her in death in  July 1989.  Opha had worked as a Caretaker and LPN.  She is survived by;  1 son - Roger Russell Sr of LaGrange, IN.  6 daughters - Olene & Don Smithson of Hebrew Spring, AK. Betty Ray of Little Rock, AK, Maureen & Clyde Hawkins of Howe, IN, Patsy & Howard "Cotton" Taylor of Howe, IN, Janet & Mickey Taylor of LaGrange, IN and   Robyn & Jim Sparrow of LaGrange, IN.  1 sister - Olene McDaniel of Waterloo, AL.  24 grandchildren and sever great and great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in Death by: Parents, Husband, 1 Sister - Polly Waters. 3 Brothers - T.C. Shook, Kenneth Shook, James Shook.  1 Son -Sonny Russel.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 6, 2010 at Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m.  The funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with the Pastor Barry St Clair of the Maple Grove Church, Topeka, IN officiating.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange, IN.  Preferred memorials are to   Parkview Hospice LaGrange.
