Miriam H. Atwater, age 93. of 4690 W US 20, LaGrange, IN died Wednesday April 14, 2010 at 8:00 P.M. at her residence. She was born in Ontario, IN on June 6, 1916 to Halie B. & Mary Alice (Robbins) Schindler. She married Kenneth Atwater and he preceded her in death on August 19, 2005. Miriam had been a homemaker all of her life and worked on the family farm. She attended the United Methodist Church in LaGrange, IN and was politically active. She is survived by 2 granddaughters - Rebecca J. Caban of Indianapolis, IN and Katherine M. Schroeder of Anderson, IN. 1 grandson - Robert R. Spring of Huntington, IN and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter - Joy Sping in 1994 and 1 nephew - James M. Schindler. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with the Pastor Denise Heller officiationg. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange, IN. Carney-Frost Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
