Donald E. Wilkinson, age 78, of 2910 E 080 N, LaGrange, IN died Wednesday February 24, 2010 at 4:34 P.M. at Parkview LaGrange Hospital, LaGrange, Indiana. He was born on January 31, 1932 to Willard & Ida (Holycross) Wilkinson in Elkhart, Indiana. He served in U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. He married Patricia A. Young on November 14, 1954. She preceded him in death on January 25, 1996. He later married Kay Dinkins on December 5, 1998 at the Woodruff United Methodist Church in LaGrange. Donald was a Radio Technician/Maintenace and was employed at AT & T until he retired in 1990. He is survived by his wife, 1 daughter - Lisa Wilkinson of Kalamazoo, MI, 3 sons - Gregory Wilkinson of Mongo, IN, Jeffrey Wilkinson of Boise, ID and Brian Wilkinson of Mottville, MI. 2 sisters - Charlyn High of South Bend, IN and Lois Meeker of Cuyahoga Falls, OH. 12 Grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. He was preceded in death by; His parents, first wife Patrica, 1 son - Rodney Wilkinson and 1 stepson - Tim Dinkins. Visitation will be held on Sunday February 28, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGragne, Indiana. The funeral service will be held on Monday March 1, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the Pastor Michael Howard of the Gospel Light Baptist Church, Kendallville, IN with Bro. Frank Combs assisting. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange, Indiana with full Military Rites by the American Legion Post #215. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
