Marjorie E. Bricker, age 97, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Millers Merry Manor
of LaGrange where she had been a resident for seven years. She was born January 10, 1913 in Fawn River, Mich.,
to John J. and Mabel (Kelly) Yunker. The family later moved to Lima Township in Indiana, where they had a farm south
of Howe. She graduated from Lima High School and attended Ball State Teacher's College, earning a degree in elementary
education. she taught third grade for three years in the Scott School. She and her husband owned and operated
the Home Market grocery store in Howe for many years. She was an active member of the Howe United Methodist Church for
many years, serving as pianist, organist, and Sunday School Teacher, and was a member of the W.S.C.S. She was also a
Cub Scout Leader. She was married June 6, 1937 in the Howe United Methodist Church to Melvin D. Bricker. They
were united in marriage in a double ring ceremony with her sister Gwendolyn and Howard Emmert. Surviving are thee children,
Carolyn and Lewis Faust, Brownsville, Texas, J. Melvin Bricker, Oakland, Calif., and David and Ann Bricker, Howe; seven
grandchildren, Scott Faust, Rick Faust, Kim (Bricker) Ebel, John Eric Bricker, Jennifer (Bricker) McBride, and Julie (Bricker)
Hochstetler; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Melvin Bricker, in 2004 and
one grandson, Andrew Bricker, in 2009. There will be no visitation. Memorial Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday,
February 13, at Howe United Methodist Church with Reverend Dewey Miller officiating. Carney-Frost Funeral
Home is in charge of arrangements.
