Bill H. Bender, age 49, of 409 E. Lafayette St., LaGrange, Indiana died at Cameron Hospital in Angola, Indiana on Monday August 10, 2009 at 1:39 P.M. He was born on November 3, 1959 in Sturgis, Michigan to William H. & Frances (Magnuson) Bender. They preceed him in death. He married Kim Lowrey on June 18, 1988 in LaGrange, Indiana. She survives. Bill was employed as a Quality Assurance Manager at Electri-Tec in Angola, Indiana. He was a 1978 graduate of Lakeland High School. He was a varsity basketball player for Lakeland from 1974 to 1978 and helped lead the Lakers to many victories and the regionals his Junior and senior year. He received a basketball scholarship to Western Michigan University and attended there for one year and played basketball on the team. He also received a basketball scholarship to Indiana State University where he played on the basketball team until he graduated with a Bachelors of Business Degree. He is survived by his wife - Kim Bender of LaGrange, Indiana. 1 son - Beau Bender of LaGrange, Indiana. 2 daughters - Brittany Bender of Howe, Indiana and Ellisa Bender of LaGrange, Indiana. 1 brother - Gary & (Pam) Roberts of Port Ritchie, Florida. He is preceeded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Thursday August 13, 2009 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held on Friday August 14, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the LaGrange First Church of God in LaGrange, Indiana with the Pastor Brian VanOsdol officiating.
