Helen I. (Sutton) Hanson of Howe, died Friday June 12, 2009 at 3:32 P.M. at Parkview LaGrange Hospital in LaGrange, Indiana.
She was born on September 23, 1916 in Union City, Indiana to Claude & Esther (Mote) Sutton. She married Chester
H. Hanson on March 28, 1935 in Valparaiso, Indiana. He preceeded her in death on October 4, 2000. Helen was a
ministers wife, pianist, assistant librarian for Duneland Schools in Chesterton, Indiana and a homemaker. The love of
her life was her family. She was a former member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ where her husband
Chester formerly ministered. She was also an associate member of the Howe United Methodist Church in Howe, Indiana.
Prior to moving to LaGrange, Helen served on the Valparaiso Womens Club and Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived
by 2 daughters - Mrs Lloyd (Lana) Moore of Howe, Indiana and Trudie Davis of Valparaiso, Indiana. 2 Brothers - Dr. &
Mrs Blaine (Shirley) Sutton of Warminster, Pennsylvania and Mr & Mrs Paul (Jan) Sutton of Valparaiso, Indiana. 7
Grandchildren, 3 Step Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren. Funeral Service is 1:00 P.M., Friday June 19, 2009 at
Bartholomew Funeral Home in Valparaiso, Indiana with visitation 2 hours prior. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery,
Valparaiso, Indiana. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association. Arrangements by Carney-Frost
