Orland Eugene Blaising "Big O", age 69, of Mongo passed away with dignity at his "Center of Paradise". on February 14, 2009 at 9:15 A.M. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, but living most of his life in Rome City before moving to Mongo in 1985. A strong-willed man who loved his family, friends and the simple things in life. He enjoyed feeding the wildlife, making maple syrup and being the family chef. Surviving is his best friend and soul mate of 26 years, Geneva "Genny", his beloved children, Clinton W. Blaising of Rome City, Indiana, Jared (Kelley) Ernst of Texas and Jana (Nick) Leitch of Churubuso. Two beautiful daughter-in-laws, Sandra Garrison of Wolcottville, Indiana and Norita Blaising of Florida. Four dearly loved sisters, Pamela (Bill) Nye of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Twyla (Ben) Boyd of Rome City, Indiana, Melanie (Dave) Knapp of Tennessee and Barbara (Calvin) Witham of LaGrange, Indiana. Three beautiful grandchildren, Daniel Blaising "Danny B" of Wolcottville, Indiana, Jeremy and Amanda Blaising of Florida. Grandpa and Grandma Lung (Lawrence and Tiny) of Rome City, Indiana and many cherished friends. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Frederick and Esther (Miller) Blaising and two beloved sons, Bryam L. and Ryan E. Blaising. A memorial service will be planned for family and friends to celebrate Orland's life in June 2009. Memorial contributions will be used to continue Orland's efforts of supplying those in need with a turkey for Thanksgiving. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
