Gertrude W. "Trudy" Treder, age 94, of 787 N. Detrit St., LaGrange, Indiana died Sunday December 14, 2008 at Miller's Merry Manor in LaGrange. She was born on December 14, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois to Too and Ella (Holst) Weder. She married Ralph Shauman in 1930. He preceded her in death in 1949. She later married Charles Treder in 1951 and he preceded her in death in 1992. Trudy was employed at the Intercity Bank in Benton Harbor, Michigan where she retired after 30 years of service. Trudy was a former and very active member of the VFW and the American Legion in Benton Harbor. She moved to Miller's Merry Manor five years ago where she has received extraordinary care and support from the staff. She is survived by 3 daughters; Judy & (Terry) Bone of Noblesville, Indiana, Jill & (Stan) Banyon of Syracuse, Indiana and Char & (Mark) Nye of Stevensville, Michigan. 1 son; Bill & (Sandy) Shauman of Portage, Michigan. 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands. According to her wishes, cremation will take place.
