Donald C. Price Jr., age 81, formerly of LaGrange,
died on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge Florida. He was born in Detroit Michigan on August 6, 1927. He moved to Brevard County in February of 1958.
He worked for Ford Motor Co. in the Ford Truck business for 34 years. Mr. Price served during World War II with
the US Navy on the USS OTUS AS/ARG 20. He became a Petty Officer at age 18. He was a member of the American
Legion Post 22 of Cocoa and VFW post 4534. He was a member of the Rockledge Presbyterian Church serving as Deacon and
a member of Session since 1961. He was also a member of the Orland Scottish Rite Bodies 32nd Degree KCCH, Azan Shrine
Temple in Melbourne Florida, Central Brevard Shrine Club having served as President in 1991 and Chaplain continuous since
1986. Also a member of the National Wildlife Federation, American Forestry Association and the Turtle and Tortoise
Club in Florida. He was known as the "Turtle Man" and spent a lifetime looking out for all turtles but partically
the Florida Gopher Tortoise. Services were held in Florida. A graveside
service with Military Rites by the American Legion Post #215 of LaGrange, Indiana was held on Friday, November 7, 2008 at
11:00 A.M. in Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange, Indiana.
