James Elwood Bobbitt, 90, of Hardinsburg, Indiana, passed away on September 27, 2019 at Paoli Health and Living.  He was born on March 1, 1929 in Crawford County, Indiana to the late Benjamin E. and Rosella (Dunn) Bobbitt.

 

He was former owner of Bobbitt Sawmill and was a retired road grader operator for the Orange County Highway Department.  He was a Christian believer.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma Jean (Williams) Bobbitt; brothers:  Knofel, Cecil, Howard, and Roy Bobbitt; a sister, Roma Mae Satterfield; and a great-grandchild, Nicholas Ward.

 

He is survived by his son, Mark Edward Bobbitt of Marengo, Indiana; daughters, Ella Darlene Ward of Orleans, Indiana, Grace Evelyn Grace of Owensboro, Kentucky, Helen Christine Jones of Paoli, Indiana, and Martha Jane Bullington of Marengo, Indiana; grandchildren, Lisa Marie Slaten, Henrietta Jill Parks, Billy and Bobby Ward, Eric Blunk, Brandon Edward Bobbitt, Benjamin Luke Bobbitt, Christopher Steven Jones, Scott Eugene Jones, Samantha Rose Draper; 3 step-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana.  Interment will follow in the Valeene Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 am until time of the service at 11:00 am, all at the funeral home.

 

Bro. Bill McCrary will officiate the service.
