Music by The Piano Brothers

Connie Rose Summers, 82, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Rosedale Green in Latonia, Kentucky.  She was born on October 15, 1936 in Marengo, Indiana, the only child of the late Truman and Paulene Terry.

Connie was valedictorian of the Marengo High School class of 1954.  While she devoted her attention to caring for her children and being a homemaker, she also took time to deliver hot meals to the elderly and to serve as 4-H leader, PTA secretary-treasurer, assistant cook at Scenic Hills Christian Youth Camp, and Vacation Bible School craft teacher.

Her nurturing and caring nature carried over into her work—as teacher’s aide at Marengo Grade School; nurse’e aid at Green Valley Convalescent Center, Washington County Memorial Hospital, Tendercare Clarksville, and Corydon Nursing Home; and home health caregiver at Senior Services of Northern Kentucky.  Connie retired from the Internal Revenue Service in Covington, Kentucky after 11 years of service.

Connie is survived by her sons, Wesley and Terry Summers; daughter, Robin Byerly; grandchildren, Heather Byerly, Jesse Byerly, Charity Fisher, Laci McDaniel, Adam Schotter, Justin Schotter, and Samantha Summers; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Marengo Christian Church.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Brown Funeral Home in Milltown from 4-8 pm and on Saturday, February 2, at the Marengo Christian Church from 10:00 am until time of the service at 11:00 am.

Bro. Mike Gillespie will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to gofundme.com/connierose for a memorial bench and/or tree at Spring Mill State Park, one of Connie’s favorite places.

I got the pleasure of sitting with Miss Connie for several weeks before her move to the home. She was so sweet and I will never forget the day Elvis came on the TV and she danced to the music. I will never forget walking to her place and seeing her. Many thanks and condolences to her family.
