Rebecca A. (Totten) Sweeney, 88, of Marengo, Indiana died on January 6, 2019 at Harrison Healthcare in Corydon, Indiana.  She was born on June 23, 1930 in Hardinsburg, Indiana to the late Herschel and Lizzie (Jones) Totten.

 

She was a homemaker and a member of the Marengo Christian Church, Old Capitol Order of the Eastern Star #467, and the Marengo American Legion Auxiliary.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Earl R. Line; a son, Melvin W. Line; and her sister, Alice Josephine Jenkins.

 

She is survived by her husband, Loren L. Sweeney; sons:  Alan R. Line (Diane) of Marengo, Indiana, Donald W. Line (Leisa) of Milltown, Indiana, and Ronald W. Line (Laura) of Marengo, Indiana; step-sons:  Delvin R. and Rodney W. Sweeney both of Salem, Indiana, and M. Van Sweeney of Marysville, Tennessee; step-daughters:  Regina L. Humphrey of Salem, Indiana, Angelic D. Price of Charlestown, Indiana, and Lorna G. Smith of Mt. Eden, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 16 step grandchildren; and 18 step great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Marengo Christian Church.  Interment will follow in the Valeene Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 4-8 pm and on Thursday from 8:00 am until time of the service at 10:00 am, all at the church.

 

Bro. Bruce Hawkins will officiate the service.

 

Casket Bearers will be Chad, Jason, Nicholas, Tyler, Tyson, and Aiden Line.

 

Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana is entrusted with the arrangements.

Dear Family, I'm sorry that I won't be able to attend. I'm having surgery on the 8th and will be laid up for a few day following that, You have my deepest sympathy and prayer.
