Dorothy A. Owens Higdon, 77, of Milltown, Indiana died on August 29, 2017 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on June 7, 1940 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late Edward C. and Audra Denham Owens.
She was a former meat packager for Fishers Meat Packing Company and a member of the Milltown Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James D. Higdon; brothers, Kenneth, Harry, and Herman Owens; and sisters, Delores Oppenhimer and Betty Owens.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse K. Higdon of Milltown, IN; sons, Jesse E. Higdon (Agnes) of Marengo, IN, Johnie L. Higdon, New Albany, IN, and Joseph R. Higdon of Milltown, IN; grandchildren, Johni Sue Elliott, James Michael, Jesse K., Jesse, John, Hope and Faith Higdon; great-grandchildren, Taeghan Deitsch and Tannar Chumbley.
A memorial service will be on Saturday; September 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, IN. Interment will be in the Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, IN.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of the service at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 9, 2017.
Bro. Morris Larimore will officiate the service.
