Curtis E. Knieriem, 67, of English, Indiana died on August 3, 2017 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center.  He was born on December 9, 1949 in Sulphur, Indiana to the late Clarence E. Knieriem and Ruby McGuire Sheckell.

 

He was a former backhoe operator for Norfolk and Southern Railroad.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Gracelyn Boggs and a step-granddaughter, Madison Sitzman.

 

He is survived by sons, Curtis L. Knieriem (Jackie) of Branchville, IN and Dakota Knieriem of Winslow, IN; daughters, Tabitha Curtsinger (Bob) of Salem, IN, Tasha Nowland (Kyle) of Chesapeake, VA, Krista Lewis (Dominic) of Lexington, KY, Sheena Boggs (Chris) of Mt. Washington, KY, and Jasmin Knieriem (Jeremy Peters) of Radcliffe, KY; sisters, Lucille Sheckell of Lanesville, IN and Edna Pipes of Florida; grandchildren, Kendrick Knieriem (Leann), Cody and Cierra Knieriem, Kolton, Kaylee, and Khloe Curtsinger, Chance, Stella, and Gabriel Nowland, Ava Lewis, Jaxon Boggs, and Jaylin Peters; step-grandchildren, Wesley Sitzman (Nicole), Tyler Sitzman, Autumn Sitzman, and Jacob Voyles; great-grandchildren, Hallie and Paisley Knieriem; and step-great-grandchildren, Hudson and Harper Sitzman.

 

A memorial service will be on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 8:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana.  Interment will be in the Old Union Cemetery near Sulphur, Indiana.

 

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.

 

Rev. Philo Jones will officiate the service.

 

Brown Funeral Home in Milltown is entrusted with the arrangements.

Curtis and I have been friends for probably 50 years. We kinda ran together for several years. Curtis helped me do things around the place and has always been a good friend.
