Clarence Amos Bye, 88, died January 9, 2017 at Baptist Health-Floyd Hospital in New Albany, IN. He was born October 31, 1928 near Milltown, IN to the late Ralph Burton Bye and Vada Boman Porter.
He was a logger, sawmill operator, farmer, and owner of Bye Wood Products. He was a member of the Marengo Valley Wesleyan Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife: Anna Mae Stroud Bye; his parents, his step-mother: Fern Bye; brothers, Owen, Lonnie Dale, James Harold, and John Ed Bye; sisters, Emma Bye Crecelius, Naomi Plants, Clara Bye, and 1 infant sister.
He is survived by his wife: Ida Jones Bye of Marengo, IN; his sons: Larry Gale Bye (Brenda) of Marengo, IN and Rev. Tony Lee Bye (Amy) of Marion, IN; daughters, Maxine Elizabeth Bye of Marengo, IN, Wanda Mae Carmichael (Paul) of Columbus, IN, Mary Ann Bye of Marengo, IN, and Brenda Kay Abston (David) of Marion, IN; step-sons: Daniel Ray Jones (Amy) of Wabash, IN, Ronnie Dwayne Jones of North Carolina, and Robert Earl Jones of Rowan, IN; step-daughters, Michelle Jones of Rowan, IN, Donna Faye Boyd of Washington, IN, and Connie Mae Hart (Joe) of Loogootee, IN; brothers, Melvin Bye and Ellis Franklin Bye both of Corydon, IN, Elvin Frederick Bye of Prattville, AL, Ralph JR Bye of Post Falls, Idaho, Wayne Bye of Oakland City, IN, Paul Bye of Marengo, IN, Charles Bye of Milltown, IN, Mark Bye of Corydon, IN, and Roger Bye of Paoli, IN; sisters, Virginia Bye of Milltown, IN, Rachel Nickelson Wagner of Marengo, IN, Ruth Cobb of Marengo, IN, Mabel Williams of Corydon, IN, Dorothy McDaniel of Marengo, IN, Bonnie Berry of Milltown, IN, Connie Roby of Marengo, IN, Alice Drury of Milltown, IN, and Elsie Lone of English, IN; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren, and 15 step great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Marengo Wesleyan Church.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm on Friday, January 13, 2017 and after 9:00 am until the time of service on Saturday all the Marengo Wesleyan Church.
Rev. Philo Jones, Pastor Brian Sorensen, and Bro. Mark Bye will officiate the service.
Interment will follow in the El Bethel Cemetery.
