Anna Mae (Stonecipher) Ransdell, 88, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Kindred Transitional Care. Anna was born in Delavan, IL on September 5, 1927 to Edgar Reader Stonecipher and Anna Elizabeth Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John W. "J.W." Ransdell; her parents, and her brother, Jesse Evan Stonecipher and sister, Emily Elizabeth Thompson.
Anna and J.W. were married in Corydon, IN on January 23, 1953. She was a lifelong Baptist and charter member of the Milltown Baptist Church. She operated a babysitting service in her home where she cared for numerous children over the years.
She is survived by her sons, John F. (Lana) Ransdell of Milltown, IN and Gerald K. "Jerry" (Christine) Ransdell of Depauw, IN; grandchildren, Alyssa Speece (Joey) and Derek, Eden, Samantha, and Taylor Ransdell, as well as two grandchildren, Brock and Rowan Speece.
The funeral service will be on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Brown-Newkirk Funeral Home in Milltown, IN.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Saturday, July 30, 2016 and after 9:00 am until time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Bro. Lloyd B. Roberts will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Milltown Baptist Cemetery.
