Bertie Mary Virginia Heishman Gentry, 101, of Milltown, IN died July 28, 2016 at her home.  She was born on February 14, 1915 in Milltown, IN to the late Jesse W. and Murel R. Rudolph Heishman.

 

She was a homemaker and a Clarion News Correspondent for the town of Milltown, IN.  She was a member of the Milltown United Methodist Church.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter (Bert) Gentry; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

 

She is survived by her sons, William S. Gentry (Cathy) and David E. Gentry both of Milltown, IN and Arthur (Tom) Gentry of Naples, FL; daughters, Ruth Ayoub (Syd) of Naples, FL and Anita L. Bowles (Brian) of Depauw, IN; brother, John H. (Mike) Heishman of Huntsville, AL; sister, Eillene Kessler (Tom) of Ft. Wayne, IN; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchildren.

 

The funeral service will be on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Milltown United Methodist Church.

 

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Brown-Newkirk Funeral Home and after 10:00 am until time of the service on Tuesday at the church.

 

Pastor Lary Cropper will officiate the service.

 

Interment will follow in the Milltown Cemetery.

 

Brown-Newkirk Funeral Home in Milltown, IN is entrusted with the arrangements.

What an incredibly long life and our oldest Milltown Alumni! It will certainly not be the same at the Alumni Banquet next year without Bertie. She never missed a one! We will all miss her greatly.

My condolences to the family, A woman I grew up knowing her as Ruth's Mom and having her as a friend, she will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Bertie I'll never forget you
