Iva Victoria Balmer, 89, died on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at her home near Marengo, IN.  She was born to Jeff and Mary (Howard) Satterfield on July 23, 1926 at English, IN.  

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Christian “Joe” Balmer; a great-grandson, Kirk Alan Ipoch III; brothers, Lloyd Howard, Rev. Frederick Satterfield, Paul Satterfield, and Perry Satterfield; sisters, Goldie Howard, Maudie Sturgeon, Ruby Trinkle, and Frances Gourd.

 

She is survived by her children, Alvin K. (Paulette) Balmer of Edinburgh; Brenda (Steve) Stoffel of Ferdinand; and Jeff Balmer of Marengo, IN; and grandchildren, Jason Stoffel, Kirsten Balmer, Ashley Stoffel, Aaron (Shannon) Balmer and Kimberlyn Balmer; and a great grandchild, Haleigh Balmer.

 

Iva loved being outside, mushroom hunting, mowing, and most of all gardening.  She cooked with a dash of love and enjoyed visiting with her family and friends.  She was a member of the Pilot Knob United Methodist Church, a 20 year 4-H leader of the Pilot Knob Ridge Kids 4-H Club, and a 47 year member of the Happy Times Club.

 

The funeral service will be on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Pilot Knob United Methodist Church.  Rev. Philo Jones will officiate the service.

 

Visitation will be on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home and after 9:30 am until time of the service on Saturday at the church.

 

Interment will follow in the Pilot Knob Cemetery.

 

Casket Bearers will be Jason Stoffel, Kirsten Balmer, Ashley Stoffel, Aaron Balmer, Kimberlyn Balmer, Carey Brown, and Fred Byrum.

 

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Pilot Knob United Methodist Church, 7186 E. Pilot Knob Road, Milltown, IN  47145.
