Elisha Delaney, 91, of Milltown, Indiana died on February 21, 2016 at the Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, IN.  He was born on July 15, 1924 in Depauw, Indiana to the late Lyman Church Delaney and Mary Ellen Woods Posey.

 

He was a retired laborer for International Harvester and Evanite Manufacturing and was a former greeter for the Corydon Wal-Mart.  He was a Army Veteran having served in World War II.  He was a member and elder of the Northwest Christian Church.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Peggy J. Engleman Delaney and a son, Melvin C. Delaney.

 

He is survived by his daughters, Susan J. Nieves of Jeffersonville, IN and Kaye Miller of Louisville, KY and 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

 

The funeral service will be on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, IN.

 

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 and after 9:00 am until time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

 

Rev. Rick Utz will officitate the service.

 

Interment will follow in the Milltown Cemetery.

 

Brown Funeral Home in Milltown is entrusted with the arrangements.

I am so sorry to hear about Reds death, he was truly one of a kind. I am sorry I did not make time to see him, we did exchange Christmas cards. He can go be with Peggy now.

To Elisha's family: I remember Elisha and Peggy quite well as being active in the Milltown Christian Church when I was young. Elisha was such a willing worker and good person. He lived a long and faithful life and you should feel quite happy about that, especially knowing that he is certainly in Heaven right now. Sincerely, Rita Jane
