Marion A. Dye Smith, 96, of Marengo, IN died on Monday, November 16, 2015 at her home.  She was born on July 7, 1919 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Lloyd and Velma E. Dye Schellinger.

 

She was former co-owner of the S & S Furniture in Marengo, IN and a member of the Marengo Christian Church, Marengo American Legion Auxiliary Post # 475 and a Pearl of the Pearl Harbor Survivors.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James E. Smith Sr.; son, James E. Smith Jr.; grandson, Levi G. Rappe; 1 brother and 2 sisters.

 

She is survived by sons, James M. Bolton (Opal) of Norwalk, California and Ricky Lee Smith (Glenda) of North Vernon, IN; daughters, Dorothy A. Ford of Jeffersonville, IN, Montee Andrade of Lake Oswego, Oregon, Patricia A. Stroud (Terry L.) of Milltown, IN, Tina M. Smith (Jim) of Milltown, IN, and Velma Jane Rappe of Hardinsburg, IN; sister-in-law, Clarice Schellinger of North Little Rock, Arkansas; loving caregiver, Linda Brown; 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

 

The funeral service will be on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, IN.

 

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 3-8 pm and after 10:00 am until time of the service on Thursday all at the funeral home.

 

Bro. Jim Smith will officiate the service.

 

Interment will follow in the El Bethel Cemetery near Milltown, IN.

 

Brown Funeral Home in Milltown was entrusted with the arrangements.
