Emmett Williams, 81, of Corydon, IN  died October 20, 2015 at his residence.  He was born on November 19, 1933 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late Vernon Tom and Stella Townsend Williams.  

 

He was a retired riverboat captain for 35 years and was a member of the Mt. Zion Community Church in Mauckport, IN and of the Pisgah Masonic Lodge # 32 in Corydon, IN.

 

He was preceded in death besides his parents, by his first wife, Lois Ripperdan and brothers, Herman, Ray, and Kenneth Williams.

 

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mabel M. Bye Williams of Corydon, IN; sons, David A. Williams of Mauckport, IN, Shane Williams of Sanford, Maine; a step-son, Dennis R. Timberlake of Pekin, IN; 2 grandchildren, Jon Williams (Krista) of Corydon, IN and April Ward (Jeremy) of Mauckport, IN; 3 great-grandchildren, Logan Dunaway, Emily and Nicholas Williams.

 

The funeral service will be on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Marengo Wesleyan Church.

 

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm on Friday, October 23, 2015 at the funeral home and after 10:00 am until time of the service at the church.

 

Rev. Gilbert Duley will officiate the service.

 

Casket bearers will be Logan Dunaway, Dennis Timberlake, Jeremy Ward, David, Jon, Nicholas, and Shane Williams.

 

Interment will follow in the Pilot Knob Cemetery near Milltown, IN.

 

Brown Funeral Home in Milltown is entrusted with the arrangements.
