Eloise A. Hammond Hughes, 81, of Marengo, IN died on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Floyd Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 1, 1932 in English, IN to the late Goldy Francis and Mauda Pierson Hammond.
She was a former employee of the Fines Shirt Factory in New Albany, IN and of the ICI Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown, IN. She was a member of the Marengo Christian Church and Marengo Women’s Auxiliary Post # 84.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren F. Hughes; and brothers, Curran Hammond and Guido Hammond.
She is survived by her son, Jim Hughes of Marengo, IN; a daughter, Norma Barrett of Marengo, IN; a sister, Maxine Pepper of New Albany, IN; grandchildren, Jessica Jones and James Hughes both of Marengo, IN; and 4 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, IN.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Friday, June 13, 2014 and after 9:00 am until time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Bro. Ben Underhill will officiate the service.
Interment will follow in the Marengo Cemetery.
