Garland Eugene “Gene” White, 82, of Campbellsburg, IN and formerly of Marengo, IN died on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, IN. He was born on January 25, 1931 in Marengo, IN to the late Lester H. “Tom” and Annabelle Rebecca Crecelius White.
He was a former builder-tradesman and worked for the former Claude Poe Lumber Company in Marengo, IN. He was a member of the Marengo Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene White of Campbellsburg, IN; sons, Terry W. White of Floyds Knobs, IN, Gary L. White of Milltown, IN, Keith T. White of Marengo, IN, Bradley A. White of New Albany, IN; daughters, Susan Atkins of Depauw, IN, Lori A. White of Crandall, IN, and Julie Beth White of Marengo, IN; and sisters, Evelyn Sloan of Marengo, IN and Mildred Kendall of Rays Crossing, IN; and 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
The funeral service will be on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, IN.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 4-8 pm and after 9:00 am until time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in the Marengo Cemetery.
