Elmo L. Brewer, 96, of Marengo, IN died on Friday, May 3, 2013 at his residence.  He was born on January 13, 1917 in Millerstown, KY to the late Charles and Liddie Walters Brewer.  

He was a dairy farmer and a World War II Army Veteran.  He was a 1935 graduate of Marengo High School, worked for the ASC, former postal carrier for Marengo Post Office, former farm census taker, past president and 5 term member of the Crawford County Council, and was a member of the Marengo United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Brewer and sisters, Ruth Streeter and Elsie Dooley.

He is survived by his wife, the former Ione Marie Hanger of Marengo; a son, Jerry L. Brewer (Michelle) of Marengo, IN; a daughter, Doris Jesch (Bruce) of Seymour, IN and grandchildren; Richard Jesch (Connie), Matthew Jesch (Pamela), Kimberley Zoephel (Jeff), Janine Refsnider (Paul), Reggie Brewer (Katy), Katie Newton (Casey), and Trent Brewer (Samantha); and 13 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Marengo United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be from 3-8 pm on Sunday, May 5, 2013 and after 9:00 am until time of the service on Monday.

Pastor Deborah Reichenbach will officiate.

Interment will follow in the El Bethel Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Marengo United Methodist Church.
