Betty Jean Wellman Hinton, 85, of Corydon, IN died on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Indian Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on July 29, 1927 in Whitecloud, IN to the late William Gilbert and Ora Mae Cole Wellman.
She was a former employee of ICI Americas- Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown, IN and attended the El Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Douglas Glenn Layer of Boulder, CO; daughters, Feather Jones of Sedonia, Arizona and Robin Miller of Boulder, CO; sisters, Carolyn Engleman, Lois Peterson, Mittie Redden all of Corydon, IN.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hinton; a brother, Knoefel "Bud" Wellman; and a sister, Audrey Woody.
The funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Milltown, IN.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 4-8 pm and after 10:00 am until time of the service on Tuesday.
Robyn Kistermaker will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Blue River Chapel Cemetery near Corydon, IN.
